Ravi Kumar — From School Dropout to Computer Trainer, Umaria
रवि कुमार — स्कूल छोड़ने वाले से कंप्यूटर ट्रेनर तक
Ravi Kumar from Umaria district was forced to drop out of school at Class 8. PSEF's scholarship and digital literacy programme changed his life — today he trains 30 youth per batch.
A Story That Almost Never Happened
In 2020, Ravi Kumar (now 24) was about to disappear into the cycle of daily wage labour that claimed most young men in his village in Umaria district's Pali block. Class 8 dropout. Father a brick kiln worker. No savings, no prospects, no path forward.
"I thought computers and good jobs were for city kids. Not for someone like me." — Ravi Kumar
The Turning Point
A PSEF volunteer visited Pali block for a community survey. Ravi was helping carry chairs at the meeting — and ended up listening.
He heard about the PSEF Education & Digital Literacy Programme: free classes, a small scholarship to cover transport, and guaranteed computer training if he completed 10th grade through the Open Board.
"That night I couldn't sleep. I kept thinking — what if this is real?"
