What is PM Kisan Samman Nidhi?

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a central government scheme that provides ₹6,000 per year in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 each, directly to the bank accounts of small and marginal farmers across India.

In Madhya Pradesh, there are over 80 lakh registered farmers under this scheme. However, thousands of eligible farmers in rural districts like Shahdol are still not enrolled — either due to paperwork issues or lack of awareness. PSEF provides free registration assistance at its camps across Shahdol.

Who is Eligible?

Eligible:

• All small and marginal farmers who own cultivable agricultural land
• Both landowner-farmers and those with legal cultivation rights
• Farmers from all states of India (PM-KISAN is a central scheme)

Not Eligible:

• Former/current holders of constitutional posts (MP, MLA, Minister)
• Farmers who pay income tax
• Retired employees receiving monthly pension above ₹10,000
• Professionals (doctors, engineers, lawyers, CA, etc.)
• Farmers who own more than 2 hectares (5 acres) of land — NOT true. PM-KISAN covers ALL farmers regardless of land size (this was a common myth; no land ceiling applies)

Documents Required

1. Aadhaar Card — mandatory, must be linked to bank account
2. Bank Account Passbook — DBT-enabled, IFSC code
3. Land Record (Khasra/Khatoni) — from Patwari office
4. Mobile Number — for OTP verification
5. Samagra ID (for MP residents)

Step-by-Step Registration Process

Method 1: Through PSEF (Recommended for Shahdol Farmers)

1. WhatsApp PSEF at +91-8969886176 with your name and village
2. Visit PSEF office or wait for our camp in your area
3. PSEF volunteers register you at pmkisan.gov.in using your documents
4. Receive registration number via SMS
5. First instalment within 3–4 months of registration

Method 2: Self-Registration at pmkisan.gov.in

1. Visit pmkisan.gov.in → "Farmer Corner" → "New Farmer Registration"
2. Enter Aadhaar number and state (Madhya Pradesh)
3. Fill all details — name, bank account, land details
4. Upload land record (Khasra)
5. Submit and note registration number

Method 3: Through Patwari / Lekhpal

Local Patwari (revenue officer) can also do PM-KISAN registration. PSEF can accompany you if the Patwari is uncooperative.

PM-KISAN eKYC — Mandatory Step

Since 2022, Aadhaar-based eKYC is mandatory for receiving PM-KISAN instalments. Farmers who haven't done eKYC have their payments stopped.

How to do eKYC:

Option 1 (Easiest): OTP-based eKYC

1. Visit pmkisan.gov.in → "eKYC" option
2. Enter Aadhaar number → Get OTP on registered mobile
3. Enter OTP → eKYC done

Option 2: Biometric eKYC At nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) or PSEF camp — biometric device used.

PSEF conducts free eKYC camps at:

• Shahdol city (main office) — every Saturday
• Block camps — monthly

Checking Instalment Status

To check if your ₹2,000 instalment was deposited:

1. Visit pmkisan.gov.in → "Beneficiary Status"
2. Enter Aadhaar number or mobile number
3. See payment history for all instalments
